Wire factory description of hot galvanized steel wire and cold galvanized steel wire

Galvanized steel wire is a construction material commonly used for parallel wire cables of cable-stayed Bridges. According to its processing method, the iron wire factory can be divided into two kinds of hot galvanized steel wire and cold galvanized steel wire. Today, let’s introduce the two kinds of galvanized steel wire and their differences.

First, cold galvanized steel wire

Cold galvanizing, also known as electric galvanizing, the use of electrolytic equipment to degreasing the pipeline, pickling, and then into the solution containing zinc salt, connected to the electrolytic equipment, the zinc plate on the opposite side of the pipeline, connected to the positive side of the electrolytic equipment on the power supply, the use of positive current, negative directional movement in the pipeline accumulation of a layer of zinc, galvanized should be processed before cold plating tube. Cold galvanized through the current in the plating tank unidirectional, zinc gradually embedded in the metal surface, slow production speed, symmetrical coating, thin thickness, generally only 3-15μm, bright appearance, smooth, beautiful, poor corrosion resistance, generally a few months will rust.

Two, hot dip galvanized steel wire

Hot galvanized steel wire is a variety of carbon steel or high carbon steel after pickling, phosphating, drawing, and then galvanized (hot plating or cold plating). Hot dip galvanizing process is divided into external annealing and internal annealing. Hot-dip galvanizing is plated in the heated melting zinc liquid, the production speed is fast, the coating is thick but not uniform, the market allows the lower thickness of 45μm, the higher can reach more than 300μm.

The color is darker, the zinc metal is consumed more, the infiltration layer is generated with the base metal, the corrosion resistance is good, and the hot dip galvanizing can be maintained for decades in the outdoor environment. Hot dip galvanized coating is thick, generally 30-60μm, and the coating has a high corrosion resistance. Steel products suitable for outdoor work, such as highway fences, power towers, large fasteners and other long-term rust prevention workpieces.

3. Differences

Hot dip galvanized coating is thick, generally 30-60μm, the coating has a high corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor work of steel products, such as highway fences, power towers, large fasteners and other “rough” workpiece long-term rust prevention. The surface of hot-dip galvanized steel wire is smooth and smooth, without cracks, joints, thorns, scars and rust, the galvanized layer is symmetrical, the adhesion is strong, the corrosion resistance is long, toughness and elasticity, the tensile strength needs to be between 900Mpa-2200Mpa (wire distance Φ0.2mm-Φ4.4mm).

The twisting frequency (Φ0.5mm) is more than 20 times, and repeated bending requires more than 13 times. Electrogalvanizing thickness is thin, generally only 3-15 times μm, the appearance is bright, smooth, beautiful, poor corrosion resistance, generally a few months will rust.
